AMNESIA OR RELIEF?

Gary Neville believes United's squad players put in good performances to help the team win on Wednesday.

"There has been a lot of talk about the squads of the teams at the top but we have shown we can handle some changes," He said

"Players who deserved a chance came in and did a great job. They were the ones who carried us through the game because some of the lads who have been in the team all the time were quite sluggish, I know I was.

"But Darren helped a lot down my side, Kieran penetrated quite a bit down the left, John O'Shea did well in midfield and Mikael Silvestre looked as though he had never been away in defence.

"Considering those lads had not played a lot recently they did very well."

However it seems there's a first time for everything as Fletcher and O'Pie started three of United's four defeats (Arsenal, Copenhagen and Southend) so far this season. Neville went on to point out the difference between United's form this season compared to last.

"We are in a run of fixtures just now which saw us slip up badly last year," he said.

"We have started in a decent way, now we must go up to Middlesbrough with the right determination and attitude and hopefully get another victory."
