Bale almost a done deal as Manchester United prepare to make history

You can forget talk of Pogba becoming the most expensive import in the English game as according to some the wheels are in motion to bring an even more expensive player back to the Premier League

Columnists have for some time been gleefully mentioning every criticism levelled at the Welshman but it does seem like the player has been made a scapegoat for the failings of what should be a team responsibility to win absolutely everything

The club that has an embarrassment of riches also have a fickle fanbase it seems who have come to view him as a problem, an expensive problem at that, no matter how hard the player tries to please them.

The player though has always maintained his desire to do well for his club but we now hear that the criticism has affected him and that he is unhappy in Madrid and unhappy with the way he has been treated

The Sunday Express journalist John Richardson told MUTV: "I think itÂ’s almost a done deal to be honest.

"I know somebody very close to Gareth Bale and the public are not hearing the real thing.

"HeÂ’s very unhappy there and heÂ’s unhappy with his treatment."

The 25-year-old winger joined Real from Spurs in 2013 and has gone on to make 91 appearances and scored 39 goals in all competitions

The player who started out at left-back offers ferocious pace, technique and the ability to score from range or in dead ball situations

At Spurs the player scored 42 times in the league and would obviously be a proven Premier league performer

The cost is thought to be around the £80milion-mark
