The Daily Mail reports that, the wonderfully named, Barcelona director of football Txiki Begiristain has been spotted talking to Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes. However he denies that this was an attempt by the club to make an approach for the player illegally.
'It's true that we met but I don't want it to appear that Ronaldo was the only subject we talked about,' he said. 'Mendes is my friend and we speak often.
'Of course, it is logical that we are interested in Ronaldo, but I must stress we are a big club and we will work in the proper way.'
