Real Madrid won the Spanish title last night with a 3-1 win over Mallorca.

"I couldn't have dreamt it any better," Beckham told Sky Sports News. "It's been about winning the title for the last six months - and we've deserved it tonight.

"It's been an incredible experience - but all I remember now is the great things.

"Winning this tonight now puts to bed everything else.

"It's amazing to have my family here. They have been with me for four years in Spain and they've been through the ups and downs - and they've felt the euphoria tonight.

"It meant the world to have everyone that supported me throughout my career - my whole family, my wife, my mum and dad, my sister and children. It's incredible."

Meanwhile Ruud explained his heartbreak at leaving United.

"In my first season here having a season like this, winning the league and finishing top scorer, it is great," van Nistelrooy told Sky Sports News.

"I couldn't imagine I would have a season like this, scoring 25 in the league, and I just feel the hard work has paid off with this. It's great to be part of a team like this.

"It was difficult to leave United to be fair, that broke my heart but I had to pick things up and I got the motivation to get the best out of me again and start all over again.

"Now I am just happy that we won and that the season was tremendous. I just want to thank all the United fans that have supported me over the last year, and still do."
