BITS AND BOBS

* The natives are restless on Merseyside following Rafeal Benitez's 'small club' comments:

David Moyes:

"Everton are one of the big clubs in England. We are, at this present time, smaller than Liverpool but, if Rafa had been managing Everton, I think he'd have tried to do a similar job today. It would just be nice for these managers to show a bit of humility, wouldn't it?"

* Fabio Capello has hit out at Beckham once again:

"He has been here three years and the results have not been good.

"We are trying a new line-up, and I am waiting for important players to return from injury. I am convinced by my decisions. For example, he played against Depor and we lost."

* The Times report that Bayern Munich will offer Jose Mourinho the manager's position if he leaves Chelsea. Last week they sacked Felix Magath and put Ottmar Hitzfeld in charge until the end of the season.

* Newcastle's Emre comments on his racism charge by the FA:

"I'm not racist. Because of my religion, I'm against racism. I gave my defence to the federation about this case, but I don't know whether I will get a ban.

"My best friend is Obafemi. He's also my room-mate, so how can anyone call me a racist? It's normal to say words like 'black' or 'negro' in Turkey but, when you say this in England, it's misunderstood."
