BITS AND BOBS

* Keano happy with Jonny Evans' progress up at Sunderland:

"He's a clever lad, who could play well anywhere. Sometimes he goes into midfield during training and he holds his own there. We know deep down he'll be going back to United and I wouldn't be surprised if he went on to become a top player there. He's that good."

* The Indie on Lille:

Following their controversial Champions League last-16 first leg defeat to Manchester United, Lille went down 2-1 at Nice as Bakari Kone struck twice in an ill-tempered 10-a-side battle at the Stade du Ray.

Yohan Cabaye looked to have secured a point for the visitors just after the hour mark, cancelling out Kone's opener for Nice three minutes before half-time.

But the Ivorian notched again five minutes from time to earn the hosts their fourth successive league victory and move them out of the relegation zone.

Nice's Florent Balmont and Lille's Nicolas Plestan were sent off for violent conduct with nine minutes remaining in the first half.
