Temperatures overnight fell to below eight degrees Celsius and referee Peter Walton felt that parts of the Bloomfield Road pitch have no hope of thawing before the scheduled kick off time on Saturday.
Rio Ferdinand said on his official Twitter: “Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch. Hope anyone who booked accommodation and hire cars gets their money back.”
As of now no other Premier League matches have been postponed.
