"I am delighted to see Wes on the pitch again," said Ferguson. "It proves there is some light at the end of the tunnel in terms of getting our main players back and I hope the others follow very soon.
"Wes has had such a bad run of injuries and he needs a bit of luck now. It is only 90 minutes but if I had to put him in the side on Saturday it wouldn't worry me."
The boy himself:
"From now on I have just got to keep training hard for when I am needed.
"I have got to keep working on my fitness and play as many games as possible.
"We have got injuries at the moment, so if the gaffer does need me I'll be ready because I have played 90 minutes. I am fine as long as I play, it doesn't bother me where."
