Bruno Fernandes on His 'Dream Come True' After First Win Since Manchester United Transfer

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was thrilled after picking up his first win since joining the club in the January transfer window, picking up an assist as the club's secured a 2-0 win away at Chelsea.

Anthony Martial opened the scoring at Stamford Bridge at the end of the first half and Harry Maguire doubled their lead after getting onto the end of Fernandes' cross, picking up his first Premier League goal for United.

Both players were interviewed in the aftermath of the game and Fernandes said he was delighted to pick up his first win as a Manchester United player, stressing it's a dream come true to be playing for the club.

"I feel great, it's a difficult game, a great team, and we need to win to keep forward in this way," Fernandes said, quoted by The Daily Mail.

"We can do much better with the ball, but here it was a good game. I feel good, I play for the biggest club in England and I am really happy, it's a dream come true."

Fernandes has only made two appearances since arriving from Sporting CP last month, but the Portugal international has already been making quite a big impact at the club.

As well as impressing on his debut against Wolves, Fernandes picked up his first assist at Stamfird Bridge and Maguire waxed lyrical about the midfielder's impact in such a short amount of time.

"The quality on the ball he brings, technical ability, the presence he's brought in, he's a leader, long may it continue," Maguire added in the post-match interview.

Fernandes will be part of the Manchester United squad which faces Club Brugge in the Europa League knockout stages on Thursday, although manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer could start him from the bench with one eye on their next domestic fixture against Watford.

Belgian side Club Brugge are currently nine points clear at the top of the Pro League and they famously picked up an impressive draw away at Real Madrid during the Champions League group stages.
