"It's been an exciting season. They [the Glazers] are delighted to have won the Premiership trophy. They've been very supportive. They've actually demonstrated they understand the need to continue to invest in the club. They're very sensible and willing to take on some unexpected expenditure."

Ed. Why does he always sound so defensive if they were so good?

About Ferguson's hunger, Capable says:

"I think it's always there to be honest.

"We've never had a chat about that [Ferguson retiring]. He's on holiday now. I speak to him regularly. The issue of when he's going to go was never actually discussed because it's a non issue for us."

On team changes:

"There will be some changes but it would be wrong to comment as to that but I think they will be discussions we will have internally. We have a got a large squad now there should be some people leaving, not many at all. There should be some leaving and don't forget we have some great players coming back who have been on loan. We want competition for places, we are looking to improve the squad and to take it on from last year. We are not resting on our laurels, we want to do even better next year on the pitch. Alex is always looking to improve the quality of the team we have out there.

"We have looked at a striker and we don't rule out another signing. The area which is a striker but we will see what happens. We are not desperate for it but if one came along that Alex and the team felt would improve the squad we are prepared to do that."
