CARRICK LOOKING FORWARD TO TITLE SCRAP

Last updated : 19 December 2006 By Ed

"As a team, so far this season we have done really well and nothing will change our mindset. So we don't really take too much notice of what is said. We just have to do our job at hand and how we go about that is up to us. We'll just continue to take each game as it comes. I know that's a cliche but it's the best way to be. We must put everything else to the back of our mind and see where it takes us at the end of the season."

Referring to the Chelsea match in April:

"Hopefully, we can have the title tied up by then but that's probably going to be too good to be true. They have been winning and we have been winning so it is going to be very tight — but it's also going to be exciting. From the start of the season, there was a belief that we could win things and I noticed that as soon as I signed. You know when you are playing well and when you have something good going. The belief's gone from strength to strength. Having not won the league in my career yet, doing it this season would be the big one for me. The Champions League would be something special but winning the title is something I've always dreamed about."
