"If I was a fan reading those things about a player - wanting more money or to leave - maybe I would have booed too.
"But I could not have been any more clear about it," he added.
"I was always going to sign and in the changing room the lads knew that.
"I told them 'Listen, I am not going anywhere. I am going to sign, there is no way I am leaving'.
"That was it. They asked me a couple of times but once I had told them that, they never asked me again."
