Dejan Kulusevski Undergoes Juventus Medical Ahead of €35m Transfer From Atalanta

Juventus are close to completing the January signing of Atalanta winger Dejan Kulusevski after the Sweden international arrived in Turin for a medical.

Kulusevski won’t celebrate his 20th birthday until April, but the 19-year-old starlet has seriously impressed during the first half of the season on loan at Parma.

Kulusevski, who is thought to have also been monitored by Manchester United and Inter this season, has started all 17 of Parma’s Serie A games so far in 2019/20 and has 11 combined goals and assists to his name – including three in his last two appearances alone.

Stockholm-born Kulusevski made his senior international debut for Sweden in November 2019.

Despite interest from other clubs, Juventus have won the race to sign the player. He was first spotted on Wednesday evening at the J Hotel in Turin.

Kulusevski was then publicly welcomed by Juve on social media on Thursday morning, with pictures from the medical at the J Medical facility at the Juventus Stadium shared with fans.

Juventus are believed to have agreed a deal with Atalanta worth an initial €35m for Kulusevski that could reach up to €45m over time if various add-ons are also triggered.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Kulusevski will earn €2.5m per season to begin with, with that figure set to rise in each year of what is expected to be up to a four-and-a-half year contract.

While Kulusevski is set to join the club, Juventus have already bid farewell to one player this winter transfer window in the shape of veteran striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Croatian’s move to Al-Duhail in Qatar was confirmed at the end of December and he joins the six-time Qatar Stars League champions and current leaders midway through 2019/20. Another former Juve player in Medhi Benatia has also been at the Qatari club since last January.
