Emre Can Urges Jadon Sancho to Ignore Man Utd & Stay at Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Can has told star winger Jadon Sancho to snub the advances of Manchester United and remain at Signal Iduna Park.

The England international has been linked with a move back to his homeland as a result of his scintillating form over the past few seasons, with the winger amassing an impressive 30 goal involvements so far this term.

Despite the arrival of fellow wonderkid Erling Braut Haaland and the formation of a new-look exciting attack, the persistent rumours regarding Sancho's potential departure have not ceased.

However, the Englishman's Dortmund teammate Can has urged the youngster to reject United - a side he himself was linked with in the winter window - and remain at his current club.

In an interview with Sport Bild, via the Evening Standard, Can explained: “I see no reason to put Manchester United above Borussia Dortmund.

“Not from a sporting side and not because of the appeal. I’d tell him to stay put and let’s play together forever."

The former Liverpool man is acutely aware of the talents of his highly coveted teammate and is not looking forward to the prospect of fielding a squad without Sancho.

Can added: “Jadon has class that not a lot of players possess. I noticed that fairly quickly. He’s enormously important for us.”

The German joined Lucien Favre's side in January from Juventus on loan, before the deal was made permanent after his fine start to life back in his home country.

While the two players have not been together for long, the revival of the Bundesliga season should give Can a chance to lineup alongside the skilful winger for a little while longer at least.

90min exclusively revealed at the start of May that United still intend to sign Sancho despite the financial uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus outbreak, though they are not prepared to spend £100m on the youngster.
