FERGIE AT THE FA LAST NIGHT

The FA website reports that Fergie was present at a meeting
last night between David Davies, FA chief exec, Sven Goran
Eriksson and a group of mangers. This comprised of Ferguson,
Bobby Robson, Peter Reid, David Moyes and Alan Curbishley.
Sensibly the FA decided to invite Arsene Wenger tomorrow, in
a different group than Fergie.

Quite what went on is anyone’s guess. The website doesn’t
give anything away, simply quoting Davies as saying:

"Today's meeting was the first of a series of meetings with
Premier League manager. We had two hours of lively
discussion and it can certainly be regarded as a success.
Because this was the first of a series of meetings, we were
not looking to draw definitive conclusions today.

"However, by the end of the meetings, it's our intention to
draw up a statement of collective intent that we will all
work towards. At that time, we'll be happy to discuss this
publicly. It's fair to say that, judging by the success of
today's meeting, we should have had more of this kind of
discussion in the past. Sven and I are very much looking
forward to tomorrow's meeting."
