FERGIE NEEDS NEW GLASSES

Fergie's usual eagle eyes somehow failed to see Friday's non-penalty:

"I didn't see it myself but everyone says it was a clear penalty. I don't know
whether TV shows that. We're going to have to face these obstacles I'm
afraid. You come against it a lot of times but you have to try and find a way
around it."

And on the rest of the game:

"I think it was a fantastic game of football, the pace and the commitment from
both teams made it an engrossing game."

"In the second half we were fantastic, I thought it was absolutely brilliant stuff,
great commitment from the lads, the speed of our passing and movement was
outstanding - I was very pleased with them."

"It was a bad time to lose a goal. Being keen, he (Carroll) tried to throw the
ball over Lampard's head. Unfortunately it didn't reach Ryan, it was a good
opportunity to counter attack and he took the risk and it cost us a goal - it was
a bad time to concede a goal just before half-time."

"There was excellent football in the second half. Great passing and
movement, the drive and enthusiasm was right, so I'm very pleased."
