FERGIE ON THE RENT BOYS

One game at a time. This from Sir Alex

"The players have got to be focused on each game. There's no point looking
forward when you've got an important issue like tomorrow night - Chelsea at
Stamford Bridge is always going to be a major fixture.

Doesn't he say this every season

"We have a fantastic record there. The strange situation regarding this fixture
is that their record at Old Trafford is great, and ours is equally good down at
Stamford Bridge. I've looked at the fixtures over the years, and it's not just
three or four years this has been going on, it's more like thirty or forty years!

"Chelsea's record at Old Trafford is something like four losses in 47 years.
Down at Stamford Bridge our record may not be quite that good, but it's as
good a record as you'll find away from home. It's certainly our most successful
away fixture.

So what's the secret then?

"The fans are close to the playing surface, which makes for a cup-tie
atmosphere every time. The players enjoy that.

"There have usually been goals in the last few games against Chelsea. The
only time I can remember a low-scoring game is a 1-0 win we had there about
five years ago, when Phil Neville scored the only goal, he was playing in
midfield that day. Other than that there's usually goals."

Meanwhile Chelsea's manager Claudio Ranieri uses reverse psychology to
fire his team up for tonight:

"It isn't a good time for Chelsea to play United; they are 100 per cent. We are
not ready yet. We haven't got our rhythm."

Before tonight's match there will be a minutes silence for Holly Wells and
Jessica Chapman, the two murdered Cambridgeshire schoolgirls.
