FERGIE POST MATCH

Alex Ferguson of old would have peeled paint with his post match comments nowadays he just seems to hurt less than we do when points slip away.

"The result's disappointing, we were maybe a bit careless in possession, and we had some good opportunities to kill the game off. But credit to Tottenham - they are always a handful in the air, a very powerful team, a very big team. I think at the end of the day it's probably a fair result."

Ferguson added: "All we can do is stick together, there is no other way to do it. Apart from set-pieces, Tottenham were never really a danger to us but the free-kick changed the whole shape of the game. We got a bit careless in possession and couldn't take our opportunities in the final third. We cannot do anything about Chelsea, all we can do is concentrate on our own results.

"We have to collect as many points as we can and try to stay as close as possible."
