Alex Ferguson, who will remain the United boss for a further three years, believes Arsenal are worthy winners of the Premiership. The Gunners last night defeated United 1-0 at Old Trafford courtsey of a Sylvian Wiltord goal to confirm their position at the top the table and add the Premiership trophy to the FA Cup they won last Saturday.

Sir Alex told reporters "Arsenal have won their last 12 games and they've not lost away from home". United meanwhile have lost on nine occasions this season, normaly a side can only afford to lose five times to win the title.

He went on to say:

"That's championship form and they are worthy champions without question.

"It has been a very disappointing season for us. But when you lose six matches at home you do not deserve to win the league."

"It is 12 years since we lost so many games at Old Trafford. We will change that."

"Maybe we will make some changes but with players like Roy Keane you have always got something to look forward to."

"Roy cares, that's the situation, and quite rightly as captain of the club I don't mind him saying what he does because he certainly stands up, no doubt about that, and the others have to follow. He's a great character."
