Fergie To Meet With Referees' Chief

The United boss has been cleared by the FA for charges relating to his outburst at what he considered to be Hackett's intervension in rescinding the red card shown to Chelsea skipper John Terry during the game between the two side's when they met at Stamford Bridge in September.

"We have written to Sir Alex Ferguson, making it clear that in our view his comments were inappropriate," an FA spokesman told The Sunday People.

"Keith Hackett has no involvement with the claims-for-wrongful-dismissal process and we reiterated this to Sir Alex.

"Alex and Keith Hackett have agreed to meet privately to discuss this and other issues.

"In view of this we have decided not to take any formal disciplinary action in relation to this matter."
