FERGIE'S CHALLENGE

Sir Alex Ferguson thinks now is the time for United's youngsters to prove they are worthy of playing for the club. With injuries to key players he now thinks it's the time for them to take control.

"It doesn't matter which team we put out on the field, we're still judged as Manchester United and we must have the responsibility and determination to act like Manchester United.

"You saw that against Benfica when we had two young full-backs in Kieran Richardson and Phil Bardsley making their debuts in European football and they absolutely excelled.

"We have some injuries at the moment but all we can do is try and win our games."

"But that's our club all over and the great thing about this place is we've always risen to challenges right back from when Sir Matt rebuilt a team to win the European Cup.

"From then on we've always accepted challenges and we have one at the moment. Yes we have some injuries, but we've just got to get on with it and try and win our games."
