Fred hits out at 'fake' reports of Man Utd unrest

Manchester United midfielder Fred has spoken out against recent reports that claimed there is unrest in the Old Trafford dressing room.

Following a run of underwhelming results, including a 1-1 draw with Newcastle and a 1-0 loss to Wolves, unhappiness at United has been a common theme in the English press.

Countless outlets have reported that there are frustrations from players about results, as well as manager Ralf Rangnick.

Fred has been mentioned in those claims, with some suggesting he is among the unhappy group in the dressing room. However, the midfielder has now hit back.

"Over the past few days I have read several fake news involving my name and other MUFC athletes," he wrote on Twitter. "I'm not in the habit of answering controversial stuff publicly, but this time I will have to.

"I just want to say that I am very happy here and I have never expressed any dissatisfaction and the possibility of leaving the club. Don't get misled by fake news. We will continue to work with great dedication to pursue our goals."

While Fred may not be among the unhappy group, there are numerous players who are keen to move on from United in the coming weeks amid concerns over their game time.

Rangnick has confirmed that forward Anthony Martial is looking for a transfer, while midfielders Donny van de Beek and Jesse Lingard join goalkeeper Dean Henderson in growing frustrated over their lack of minutes.

Left-back Luke Shaw hinted at divisions within the group during the defeat to Wolves, suggesting the players were not 'all together' in the match.

That defeat left United seventh in the Premier League standings, with Rangnick's men missing the chance to leapfrog Tottenham and close the gap on the top four.
