"What happened last year was unexpected," said Ferguson. At the beginning of the season there was a lack of focus. We had won three titles on the trot, two of them very easily and sometimes that doesn't help.
"We are at our best when we have to fight and battle. In 1999 we had to scrap our way through virtually every game and we came through that period undefeated. Sometimes you react better in adversity. Maybe last season was good for us because we must show we have the character to come back. We certainly have the quality and I feel we will do it."
