Harry Maguire Names Marcus Rashford as His Most Talented Teammate Ever

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has confessed that he believes Marcus Rashford is the most talented player who he has ever played alongside.

The pair have been England teammates since 2017 and linked up at Old Trafford last summer, and Maguire watched Rashford rack up 14 goals in 22 appearances before the Premier League was postponed.

During his appearance on the UTD Podcast, Maguire was asked to name his dream six-a-side team made up of other Red Devils to have worn the captain's armband, and he did not hesitate to include Rashford, who he tipped to become one of the best players in the world.

“I think as a club, you should have a captain and rely on him, but you need to spread the onus of the leadership in the group,” Maguire said. “Marcus is there and he battles through every game. Obviously he’s had a bad injury but he’s battling hard to get back. He very rarely misses games.

“He’s always wanting to make himself available. I think you can see around the place, on and off the field as well, he’s excellent with his charity work, which is great to see.

“On the pitch, like I said, he’s amazed me. He’s the most talented player I’ve ever played with.”

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival at the club, Rashford has proven himself as one of United's most reliable forwards. He is the team's top scorer this season, despite not playing since picking up a back injury in mid-January's meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“I’ve always spoken so highly of Marcus when I have been with him in the England squad," Maguire added. "I can’t speak highly enough of him. I think he’s going to go on to have an exceptional career.

“I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but I think he’s going to be a wonderful player for Manchester United, as he is now."

Rashford's back injury was expected to force him to miss the majority of United's remaining fixtures, but the delay in the season has given him a chance to return and he is expected to be ready to go if the Premier League does find a way to resume.
