Harry Maguire rubbishes reports of Cristiano Ronaldo power struggle

Harry Maguire has disputed claims that he has clashed with Ralf Rangnick over his desire to give more dressing-room power to Cristiano Ronaldo.

The United squad have been the subject of numerous reports in recent days, with many outlets claiming the dressing room is divided into cliques and some players are not seeing eye to eye with Ronaldo following his summer return to Old Trafford.

The Mirror reported that Maguire has found himself in a 'power struggle' with Ronaldo, who is keen to take on more of a leadership role despite the fact Maguire is the captain, but the England centre-back has hit back on social media to deny the claims.

"I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that aren’t true and this is another," he wrote on Twitter. "Not going to start posting about everything that is written but I needed to make this one clear. We’re united and focused on Sunday."

Maguire is the latest United player to hit back at these reports, with Marcus Rashford and Fred both going public with their dismissals of the suggestions of a divide in the dressing room.

Rashford claimed such reports were 'made up', while Fred insisted they were all simply 'fake news'.
