HOW FAR DID YOU GET IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?

Despite their awful record in the Champions League this
season, Bayern Munich seem obsessed with pointing out what a
bad job we made of it. This time it is Munich's General
manager Uli Hoeness:

"Like Manchester we wanted to buy Rio Ferdinand, but
Manchester United invested £30 million pounds. I wouldn't
have. When United played Real Madrid, Ronaldo made Rio's
head swim. I'm glad now I invested the money in three
defenders instead of one - Robert Kovac, Sammy Kuffour and
Thomas Linke would not have been outplayed by Ronaldo like
that."

This is a team that conceded 3 at home to RC Lens and didn’t
win a single game in the Champions League all season.

He also indicated that they would push us for the signature
of supposed target Roy Makaay:

“Roy Makaay is currently top goalscorer in Spain, can win
the championship with La Coruna and is being chased by
Manchester United. He won't be cheap, that's for sure. We
have always had our eyes set on Roy. He is an excellent
striker and we want him, no matter who else does, too.”
