Roy Keane:

"Jonny looks a done deal. I am absolutely delighted with that because he will be a top player.

"He is young, hungry and he is a tough lad. I have seen him play enough times. He will come here next week.

"Phil Bardsley came up here on Wednesday, had a look around and we had a good chat.

"He is having a few days to think things over and hopefully he will come back with a positive answer."

Evans in the Belfast Telegraph:

"I am really excited about going to Sunderland. It is where I wanted to go.

"I know there was interest from other clubs, but once I knew Sunderland were interested there was only one place that I wanted to go.

"Sunderland were interested during the summer before Roy Keane got the job and I was interested myself then. But Roy Keane was really the deciding factor and I'm really looking forward to working with him. He has always been my idol since I was a kid.

"I am sure working with him as a manager he will give me advice and can push me to the next level."

* Ed. Despite Fergie being quoted as saying that Bardsley's moveto Sunderland 'has been agreed' it appears that there may be other suitors. Villa are apparently in the frame.
