SAF responds to Hughes' remarks after the midweek match:
"I hate doing it because Mark's one of my great players who I loved and I think he's done a great job as a manager.
"Managing isn't an easy job and I just hope Mark listens to me because he could have a great career.
"But he's got to look at himself a bit because he's out contesting every decision that goes against his team.
"You have to accept you're going to get fouls against you, you can't contest every one of them.
"He's got good enthusiasm and energy and maybe that's the way he uses his energy," adds Fergie.
"I don't think he should be upset [by my comments] because the criticism has come from all directions since he arrived there in terms of their physical play, not just from me.
"Managing isn't an easy job and I just hope he listens to me because he could have a great career."
