Gabby Logan is said to be livid after ITV have told her that Steve Rider will be the face of ITV for World Cup coverage. From the Mail on Sunday.

Gabby Logan has been dumped as the presenter of England's World Cup games on ITV after damning reviews of her onscreen performance.

The 33-year-old is being replaced by former BBC veteran Steve Rider as the anchor of England's crucial group matches against Sweden and Trinidad and Tobago.

ITV's decision to reshuffle its line-up is surprising, not least because Logan has been the 'face' of the channel's football coverage for the past two years.

Now she has been reduced to a supporting role alongside fellow presenter Jim Rosenthal.

The changes come after Logan's anchoring of the Champions League final was hammered by critics.

ITV's director of sport Mark Sharman told Broadcast magazine: "There are certain games that are bigger than just football, they are national events.

"Steve's overwhelming experience has put him in the frame for the job."
