Jose Mourinho My respect for Sam Allardyce has not been damaged

Allardyce left his post on Tuesday after only 67 days in charge having being caught making unguarded comments in a sting by the Daily Telegraph.

The 61-year-old was filmed talking to undercover reporters posing as businessman about how to get around Football Association rules on third-party ownership and making derogatory remarks about the FA and high-profile figures in the game.

Mourinho accused Allardyce of playing "19th century football" when he was in charge of West Ham but subsequently backtracked and praised his appointment as England boss this summer.

Talking ahead of Manchester United's Europa League clash with Zorya Luhansk, Mourinho said: " The only thing I can say is that I like Sam, I feel sorry for that because I know that it was the dream job

"The second thing is what happened obviously is not going to interfere in any way with my relationship with him

I liked him and I respected him before and that is not going to change

"The third thing is this is between him and the Football Association and I have nothing to say about it."
