KEEP MY SEAT WARM

Speaking before the Chelsea game United keeper Roy Carroll knows Barthez
is still number one.

"You can't just jump straight in and expect to be number one on the strength
of a few matches. I know Fabien will be back as soon as he is fit and there'll
be no argument from me," Carroll added.

"Fabien is more experienced and there is no rush for me. I have to keep my
feet on the floor and learn. It is still a dream come true for me."

"It is a good start to the season for me. It has given me a chance to shine in
the first team," said Carroll.

Under pressure:

"To start the campaign in the first team is what everybody wants. It has given
me an opportunity to show the gaffer that I can take the pressure and in the
long run he wouldn't be afraid to keep picking me if Fabien picks up injuries.

"United are the biggest club in the world and if you can handle the pressure
here you can play anywhere."

On Fabien's mistakes last year:

If you don't make mistakes then you are not human and it is the way you deal
with them that can determine how good a player you are.

"The critics forgot how good Fabien is once he made a few mistakes last term.
But he didn't let it get to him. He just set about fixing those mistakes and
ensuring they didn't happen next time."

Let's hope he follows his own advise before his next match for United.
