LAST STAND FOR REDS

Solskjaer quoted in the Sun on United's European chances this season:

“There are a few of us players for whom this could be the last chance. You have to grasp your opportunities when they are arrive, they might not come again.

“We have the squad to do well. We've got strength in depth and a wealth of international players whose skill and experience we can draw upon.

“Last year's early exit at the group stage was a major disappointment for all at United and we want to make up for it.

“If we can prove we have learned from the mistakes of recent seasons, we could last the distance.

“Of course, you must have belief in yourself — which young players never lack, they believe they are unbeatable. We also have experience.

“Myself, Scholesy, Giggsy and Gary Neville have all won it, while Henrik Larsson and Edwin van der Sar have had success with other clubs.

“Experience counts. At this stage, if you make a mistake you could be out. That's a lot of pressure. But if you've been through it before, you know what is required.

“Our younger lads have had some tough lessons in recent seasons but we're looking strong now.”
