Left back at Everton by Moyes, could be United's new left-back

Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain are ready to entice Patrice Evra back to his French homeland to complete his career. This has lead to speculation that David Moyes wants to bring in either Leighton Baines from Everton or Luke Shaw from Southampton to take over United’s left-back position.

United’s offer will fall short of Everton’s £15m valuation as the Merseyside club fight hard to keep Baines, however many feel that Baines may well force through such a move to take his career to the next level. Baines may feel that he can replace Ashley Cole in the England team if he completes a move to United.

Newly promoted Monaco, who are blatantly ignoring UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules, have targeted France defender Evra, 31. PSG are also interested in a player that is seriously tempted to return to his home country for family reasons.

Baines regularly thanked Moyes for developing him into one of the best left-backs in Europe.

Baines has twice been voted into the PFA’s Premier League select XI whilst last season he was the only outfield player to complete every league game.

Baines believes Moyes will do a great job at Old Trafford and has nothing but praise for the Scotsman.

“We were hoping he would stay but we wish him well,” said Baines. “I’m sure he will do a good job at United, he’s a great manager.”
