LOOK AND LEARN

More from Wayne Rooney's interview with the Mirror. Here he talks United.

"My debut for Manchester United was the highlight so far. It was a big night for me. I wanted to make an impression, I felt confident on the night and really enjoyed it. It was all just a blur really. After the game I was overjoyed and I was so excited that I couldn't get to sleep until about four o'clock in the morning.

"I've still got the game on video in my house and I get it out every now and again to watch because that's probably my favourite game.

"I always watch every game I play in the day after because I want to have a look and see how I felt in the game, how I performed and how I can improve.

"I'm young enough to improve and that's why I always look at my game very closely and see where I can do better and so on. I've got lots of time and I want to play in every game and learn in every game.

"I feel like I'm learning a lot from the players around me and the manager. The game is getting better each year so hopefully that can continue.

"We've got the cup final in a couple of weeks so that can make it a successful season for us.

"We go into every tournament wanting to win it, we've got into the final and hopefully we can come home with the trophy and do well in the FA Cup as well.

And on Chelsea

"We're just concentrating on our own game but Chelsea have had an exceptional season, they've been brilliant all season and you have to give them credit for that.

"But we have to try and concentrate on ourselves and hopefully when the time comes we'll be a bit closer to them than we are at the moment.

"I think you have to give them credit for their consistency through the season and the way they've been playing has been very good.

"Jose Mourinho has come in, kept the team together and they've all stuck together and done very well for Chelsea.

"You have to give them credit for that even if it is difficult watching them sometimes and every United player or fan feels that.

"But hopefully we can get closer to them because I haven't given up on catching them and overtaking them."
