Man Utd predicted lineup vs Burnley - Premier League

Manchester United are looking to quickly put Friday's FA Cup embarrassment against Middlesbrough behind them when they travel to Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Burnley are bottom of the table and this present Ralf Rangnick and his team with an opportunity to put a much-needed win on the board. However, that is much easier said than done when you couldn't beat a team from a lower division at home in 120 minutes.

Here's a look at the starting XI Rangnick could pick...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

David de Gea (GK) - Expected to return in goal after Dean Henderson was given an opportunity in the FA Cup.

Diogo Dalot (RB) - Aaron Wan-Bissaka returned to the bench against Middlesbrough after recent illness but the Portuguese could still start.

Harry Maguire (CB) - Despite ongoing questions about his form, the captain always starts when fit and that won't change.

Raphael Varane (CB) - His adaptation to English football has been tough but United are better when he plays.

Luke Shaw (LB) - Set to keep his place despite playing 120 minutes against Boro on his first game back from a recent injury as Alex Telles has Covid-19.

2. Midfielders

Scott McTominay (CM) - He still gives United something that no one else in the squad and remains a regular starter for good reason.

Paul Pogba (CM) - The Frenchman impressed on Friday in his first appearance since November and his creativity here will be key.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - After a glaring miss that ultimately cost United the Middlesbrough tie, he will be determined to put things right.

3. Forwards

Jadon Sancho (RW) - Started so well against Middlesbrough, hitting the bar and scoring in the first half. Expected to be fine after experiencing fatigue.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - Now 37 and no longer as mobile as he used to be. But United won't be able to replace his goals with anyone else in the squad.

Anthony Elanga (LW) - The decisive penalty miss was a cruel blot on an otherwise impressive cameo off the bench on Friday.
