Man Utd unveil their throwback away kit for the 2021/22 season

Manchester United have released their away shirt for the 2021/22 season with the club producing a throwback shirt inspired by their iconic 1991/92 away kit.

The Red Devils' home shirt for the upcoming campaign has similar nostalgic vibes with the club opting for a classic design with some simple yet classy detailing.

Anyone who's been left a little underwhelmed by United's home offering is in for a treat when they see next season's away shirt, with the club paying homage to their iconic snowflake design away shirt from the 1991/92 season - the last campaign before the inception of the Premier League.

The business of classic shirts has taken off like a rocket in recent years, with United's 1992 away shirt one of the most sought after jerseys out there, and fans now have the chance to own what is essentially an updated version of that shirt.

There's a further nod to United's rich history in the shorts and socks as well, with the 'Glory Blue' coloured shorts paying homage to the Red Devils' European Cup winning side of 1968, while the socks feature the same quality blue and white pattern as the shirt.

United have been keen to stress their ongoing commitment to the environment with the shirt made from a series of high-performance recycled materials.

The shirt was set to be debuted during United's pre-season friendly with Preston at Deepdale on Saturday, but following the news the game has been postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-team squad we'll have to wait a little while longer to see it in action.

Anyone looking to get their hands on the kit can do so right away, with the shirt, shorts and socks all available on Manchester United's official website.

The shirt is available in both long and short sleeve and there's also the option of the authentic jersey for anyone looking to splash out.
