MANAGERIAL DELUSIONS PART ONE

As Schmeichel nears his final retirement, Keegan has gone a
little over the top in his praise for the goalkeeper:

"I cannot replace Peter Schmeichel, I can't do it not with
like for like. He is like Bill Shankly when they make people
like him and Peter they throw the moulds away. You only get
one of them. They are exclusive and you are just lucky to
have them and we have been very lucky to have had Peter for
this year.”

Nothing too outlandish in that, but he didn’t stop there:

"Peter came to see me in my office three weeks ago and tell
me that he was going to quit. I said then that it was the
right decision as he made it and people didn't have to make
it for him by saying he was a bit slower or that he couldn't
do this or that. He has finished at the top and that didn't
seem likely when he was at Aston Villa last year. And of
course he is retiring ironically in the same City where he
made his name with Manchester United."

Finished at the top? You sure Kevin?
