Yep, that's right. Just as we thought we were running out of young, British talents to be linked with Manchester United, it seems it is Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell's turn to join the merry-go-round.
The 21-year-old has been one of this season's surprise packages, as after falling out of favour towards the end of the Canaries' Championship-winning season, he has gone on to score six goals and assist a further two in 21 Premier League appearances.
It's been an impressive return for the versatile attacking midfielder, particularly in a struggling Norwich team that sit bottom of the league and seven points from safety.
No one can tell me nothing. Written off, not strong enough, not quick enough, not worthy of the number 14 shirt! Well listen up I’m on my way to the top and no-one is going to stop me! So listen to anyone striving forward and being told all this sh*t tell them “ I got this” 🦁 pic.twitter.com/cW53kqW2hk

But if they are destined for relegation, then it seems the hyenas are not waiting around to pick at the scraps.
The Mail, while reaffirming those tired links with James Maddison, Jack Grealish and, you guessed it, Sean Longstaff, now credit United with a vested interest in Cantwell, and say they could make a move for him this month.
They say this interest is tied to injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, which have United rethinking their January transfer policy. They are keen to secure midfield cover for the remainder of the season and beyond, and Cantwell - rated at £30m - could offer just that.

It perhaps wouldn't be a dissimilar signing to Swansea winger Dan James, who has chipped in with a decent haul of three goals and seven assists since joining United in the summer - starting all but two of their league games.
Elsewhere, the Longstaff interest alluded to by the Mail is backed up by reports elsewhere, that say United could move for either the Newcastle star or out-of-favour Juventus star Emre Can in a bid to ease their injury crisis.
And if we weren't already convinced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for a new midfielder this month, then there is also reported interest in Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes, whose representatives are believed to have been in the UK for talks over the New Year.
