Manchester United are close to doing business with Real Madrid over the future of Spanish keeper David de Gea

United have rejected the opening bid made by Real of £13m says The Sun and will not accept anything further unless it is £25m or more for the 24-year-old.

The initial bid tabled was torn-up immediately with the advice to not return until they make a more serious attempt to land the services of the Premier League star shot-stopper

They have, say the reports, told Rafa Benitez that they will not even listen to offers below their target figure.

David De Gea has been a target of the Spanish giants for a long time now and feel the time is now right with the situation with veteran Iker Casillas to make their move, especially with De Gea now entering his final 12 months of the existing contract he has with the Red Devils.

De Gea joined United from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has gone on to make 131 league appearances and developed into one of the clubs best players over the past couple of seasons

United already have a couple of options lined up to replace De Gea if necessary with French international keeper and captain Hugo Lloris looking like the favourite.
