Ramos is currently on holiday and wants his future decided before the club go on their pre-season tour of Australia and China

He was made aware of the bid after his representatives met with chief executive Jose Angel Sanchez at the club's Valdebebas training ground.

Marca are reporting that if Ramos was to leave then Real Madrid would turn to Valencia's Nicolás Otamendi as a replacement

It is believed that Sergio Ramos currently earns around £4 million per year at the Bernabeu and is looking for an improved contract of £6.5million, which Manchester United are willing to grant him

Nicolás Otamendi has also been a target of Manchester United and their local rivals Manchester City in recent weeks, with the Argentine clearly being one of Europe's most wanted player at the moment.

Manchester United will now consider a revised bid for Ramos, likely to be in the region of £40million but it is understood that Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea will not be part of that deal

It had been reported that United could use the stopper as leverage to land Ramos, with Real Madrid looking to find a long term replacement for aging captain Iker Casillas.
