Manchester United Looking to Strengthen Three Positions in Summer Transfer Window

Manchester United will look to add a right winger, a number ten and a striker during the next transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer began the process of overhauling the Red Devils' squad last summer, bringing in Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire for hefty fees to tighten up at the back.

Now, with long-term target Bruno Fernandes signed to bolster the midfield, United's transfer committee have turned their attentions to strengthening the side's attacking options.

Bruno Fernandes

According to the Evening Standard, one of the club's priorities is signing Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho. The 19-year-old has been in scintillating form for BVB this season, racking up 17 goals and 19 assists in just 35 appearances.

90min reported all the way back in September that United were confident of sealing a 2020 move for Sancho and little has changed in that regard. The Englishman remains top of United's wishlist.

Solskjaer is also looking to strengthen the number ten position when the window opens. Both Jack Grealish and James Maddison have long been linked with moves to Old Trafford

Grealish has been Aston Villa's creative talisman this season and they will be desperate to hold on to their star man. Maddison has also been in good form and it was reported last month that the England international would be open to the move. However, Leicester remain determined to tie him down to a long term deal.

Jadon Sancho

The final position that United are planning to strengthen is striker. United are woefully understaffed in this area and it was exposed when an injury to Marcus Rashford forced them to make the last-ditch January signing of Odion Ighalo.

Harry Kane could be an option in this regard. 90min revealed earlier this month that the England captain's representatives are exploring options for Kane to depart Tottenham

United would face stiff competition from the likes of Juventus and Manchester City. Long term admirers Barcelona and Real Madrid are less likely to enter negotiations for the frontman's signature.

Outside of these three key positions, United are targeting a deal for Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham. Despite reports to the contrary, 90min recently confirmed that the Blues have not yet received a concrete proposal from Dortmund for the 16-year-old's services, meaning the Red Devils remain very much in contention.
