Not so long ago, Ashley YoungÂ’s Manchester United career seemed to have reached its end as poor performances and lack of game time under David Moyes saw United looking for replacements

The arrival of Louis van Gaal seems to have given Young a renewed energy as his improvement has seen him recalled to EnglandÂ’s squad for the upcoming friendlies.

YoungÂ’s versatility and good work rate have made Young a pivotal part of UnitedÂ’s squad

Talks on the terms of the extension have been going on and the England is set to sign next month

However, with Young extending his stay at Old Trafford comes complications as to where new signing Depay will play as he is unlikely to start ahead of Angel di Maria

Juan Mata has also been used in the winger position whilst Antonio Valencia and Luke Shaw will probably keep their positions as wing backs.

Selection doesn't get easier for LVG as United are thought to be targeting even more midfield reinforcements with the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Ilkay Gundogan thought to be favourites to sign.
