Marcus Rashford determined to fight for Man Utd future after Erik ten Hag talks

Marcus Rashford has no desire to leave Manchester United this summer, 90min understands, with incoming manager Erik ten Hag looking forward to working with the England international.

The 24-year-old endured a tricky 2021/22 campaign in which he started just 13 Premier League games, and he lost his place in Gareth Southgate's England squad as a result.

Following Ten Hag's move to Manchester weeks ago, the Dutchman held talks with Rashford to determine what the future holds and sources have confirmed to 90min that both parties indicated a desire to keep working together.

Rashford wants to stay at Old Trafford to prove himself and Ten Hag is excited to work with the forward to try and get the best out of him.

Ten Hag's assistant, Steve McClaren, is also known to be an enormous fan of Rashford and he is determined to help the Englishman return to form for both club and country - a desire shared by Ten Hag.

Listen now to 90min's Manchester United podcast, The Promised Land, with Scott Saunders & Rob BlanchetteOn this week's show they discuss reports linking Ruben Neves and Robert Lewandowski with moves to Old Trafford, the latest on Frenkie de Jong, and Andy O'Boyle's return to the club.

Nevertheless, 90min understands that United have fielded enquiries from Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham, while Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain have also voiced an interest, but neither United nor Rashford humoured any of the approaches.

There is a mutual desire to make Rashford's time at United a success and a summer exit has been ruled out as a result.

The same cannot be said for Anthony Martial, however, with sources confirming that both United and the Frenchman have accepted that a permanent exit from Old Trafford would be best for everyone involved.
