Marcus Rashford Reassures Man Utd Fans He Will Be Back From Injury in a 'Blink'

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has declared that he will continue to be heavily involved in team meetings throughout his ongoing recovery from a stress fracture and has reassured fans that he will back on the pitch in a ‘blink’.

Rashford has enjoyed his best ever season so far in 2019/20, scoring 19 goals in all competitions. But a knock against Wolves in the FA Cup third round replay last week saw him hobble from the pitch just 20 minutes after being brought on as a substitute.

The 22-year-old talisman, who has scored in all nine of United’s Premier League wins this season, has been ruled out for at least the next six weeks as a result.

Taking to Twitter on Monday morning, Rashford sought to reassure United fans that he will remain a committed member of the squad even though he cannot play.

“On the pitch or not, Manchester United fans don’t get much bigger than me. You best believe I'll be involved in team meetings, team huddles and team sessions throughout this recovery [sic],” he said.

He added, “Blink and I’ll be back, fitter than ever. See you soon.”

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has estimated that Rashford will not return to action before the mid-season break in February, with six weeks the expected minimum timeframe before any additional fitness or rehab work that may come when the initial fracture is healed.

Solskjaer has admitted that the injury to Rashford, as well as others suffered throughout the team this season to the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, could see United consider some short-term deals in what remains of the January transfer window.

“It might be, because the window is open, we might look at some short-term deals as well that could take us through to the summer,” the Norwegian explained.

“We’re looking at numbers as well because we have had many injuries so if the right one’s there and it will fit for us, we can buy. If there are loans available, it might be possible. But I’ve got players here as well that are champing at the bit.”
