Marcus Rashford's 'Close' Relationship With Jadon Sancho Could Help Man Utd Deal

Manchester United's hopes of signing Borussia Dortmund starlet Jason Sancho this summer could be boosted by the winger's close relationship with Red Devils striker Marcus Rashford, according to a report.

The pair are said to have formed a close friendship since working together on international duty with England and, with the Sancho transfer saga gaining pace, Rashford's relationship with the Dortmund man could put United in pole position to capture his signature.

Sancho is set to leave Germany this summer, with moves to Liverpool, United, Chelsea and a potential return to Manchester City all touted following the 20-year-old's stellar performances this season, in which he's scored 17 goals and registered 19 assists.

According to the Irish Independent, however, the Red Devils could have moved to the front of the queue, with Rashford and Sancho's close bond perhaps capable of persuading the Dortmund wideman to choose Old Trafford this summer.

Sancho is likely to cost a fortune, with the fee for the Englishman set to be well over £100m off the back of his showings in both the Bundesliga and Champions League.

As a result, Liverpool look unlikely to be willing to splash the cash for the starlet, while Man City's potential European ban could discourage Sancho from a move to the Etihad.

Chelsea and Real Madrid also have their eyes on the winger, but it seems that a move to United is becoming increasingly likely.

Not only do Rashford and Sancho have a good relationship, according to The Metro, the former told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that the Dortmund man is a big admirer of his work, while also appreciating what the Norwegian boss is trying to achieve at Old Trafford.

Rashford has also told Solskjaer that Sancho is both 'decent' and 'dependable', further fuelling speculation linking him with a move to United.

While this transfer saga is likely to have countless more twists and turns before an eventual conclusion, it appears the Red Devils find themselves in a strong position, despite football having come to a standstill.
