Mason Greenwood has begun to make the right wing position at Manchester United his own, with another breathtaking display against Brighton on Tuesday night.
The 18-year-old's ability to work half a yard of space for himself is crucial, while his overall maturity and professionalism for a player so young has been clear for all to see this season.
Greenwood showed once again on Tuesday why he is considered one of the very best young talents in world football, as he netted and provided an assist in United's 3-0 win over Brighton. With the Red Devils on top and searching for the opener, Greenwood grabbed his 13th goal of the season in all competitions with a finish that fans have already become so accustomed to seeing on a regular basis.
Facing up to the Seagulls' defence, Greenwood performed a number of lightning quick stepovers as he looked to find the smallest gap to unleash a shot. Equally capable of going left or right, the youngster opted to shift the ball on to his left foot before firing in at the near post.
This strike was Greenwood's of the season in the league alone, which Opta note is the most scored by a player aged 18 or below in a single Premier League campaign since United legend Wayne Rooney bagged nine for Everton during the 2003/04 season.

With Greenwood seemingly now holding down the right wing position, he could yet surpass Rooney's tally. Perhaps what is most impressive about Greenwood's goals tally in the league in 2019/20 is that while he has made 25 appearances up to this point, he has started just six games. When presented with an opportunity, Greenwood has proven to be one of the most clinical finishers around.
Additionally, prior to the enforced break, Greenwood's talent and skill was, of course, clear for all to see - but his work in the gym during lockdown has helped make him more imposing and even harder to dispossess.
