Gary Neville has said that Steve McClaren is in a no win situation after the
"People will talk about the system," said Neville. "It is something the manager wanted to do and I could see the merits of that.
"Wing back is not something I play regularly, but in the first half I quite enjoyed it.
"I got a few crosses in, but all your enjoyment in a football match comes down to the result and how you do as a team and not how you perform as an individual.
"Over the next few days I suppose the manager will be criticised for playing a different system.
"I think if we played 4-4-2 for the next three years he would be criticised for not being flexible.
"But the manager will come under criticism if he changes the system. He just can't win."
