Sir Alex Ferguson believes Real Madrid are no longer Europe’s best team, despite spending £30m on Ronaldo during the summer. When the Spanish giants added the Brazilian striker to their glittering stable of players in August, many people predicted that this season’s Champions League would be a formality.
“AC Milan are playing really well in Europe. If you look at last season, I thought Madrid were going to have a great chance of winning. I thought they were a threat, but I don’t see that so much this year.”
