From the MEN:

Gary Neville will be put in cold storage to get him ready for the heat of the Chelsea showdown. The United captain has once again fallen victim to the calf injury that has dogged him since the World Cup in Germany.

The 31-year-old right-back had to be withdrawn at half-time in the Reds' 1-0 victory at Blackburn on Saturday and has been ruled out of England's Amsterdam friendly with Holland on Wednesday.

But Neville could also be rested for the trip to Sheffield United on Saturday and the crucial Champions League match in Glasgow against Celtic a week tomorrow ahead of the November 26 clash with Chelsea.

Ferguson:

"Gary's calf muscle injury keeps returning. We left him out for the Copenhagen game to try and give him training so it wouldn't recur but unfortunately it has.

"We want to get to the bottom of it. Fluid keeps gathering in the muscle and that is bit of a concern. Maybe we'll have to leave him out for a couple of weeks and let it heal properly."
