From The People:

Everton have banned Manchester United from collecting the Premiership trophy at the end of their final game next Sunday.

In a bitter row with Premier League chiefs, Everton say Sir Alex Ferguson and his boys cannot have an end-of game party because of "crowd safety issues" and the way their fans feel about United, who are eight points clear at the top after beating Charlton 4-1.

Furious Premier League bosses are now threatening to confiscate Everton's £600,000 Sky money if they refuse to budge.

Everton’s spokesman, Ian Ross said: "We have already told the Premier League that we are happy for United to receive the trophy on the pitch after our players have completed the tradional lap of honour or in the dressing room after the final whistle.

"We are not killjoys at Everton but we also have no intention of cutting corners where safety is concerned."
